Letters Without Borders

Clara Francesca and Anne Wichmann

XR Ensemble together with Spatial Media Lab

How can we bridge the distances created by language, migration, and individual experiences to co-create something meaningful together? This workshop explores the fragmentation of language and the universality of human connection through embodied practice, personal storytelling, and interactive sound design.

Participants will engage in a dynamic and collaborative process to uncover how personal narratives of migration and identity can inspire the creation of a collective artwork. Guided by Clara Francesca and Anne Wichmann, this session will culminate in the creation of an interactive sound installation that invites participants to become both artists and performers. In collaboration with Spatial Media Lab, the workshop will culminate in an interactive audiovisual piece that will be exhibited at MANIFEST:IO in a spatial sound dome.

Inspired by Dr. Sophie Scott's The Neuroscience of Laughter and a passion to joyously-confuse-and-include audiences, we invite people from all backgrounds, age groups and communities to creatively come together.

No prior technical background is required—just a willingness to share, explore, and create.
