MANIFEST:IO returns for its third edition, a dynamic two-day symposium organized by TimeLab, exploring the intersection of new media, electronic arts, and critical discourse. Taking place in Berlin, the event unites artists, media researchers, and creative professionals to challenge norms, provoke dialogue, and push boundaries on the most urgent global issues.
This year we confront the theme of Fragmenting Places, Imagined Spaces. We invite submissions that reflect on space as multimodal, between the real and the imagined. Submissions are invited to reflect on the dissolution, transformation, and occupation of spaces—whether through the gradual creep of gentrification, the sudden violence of demolition, the subtle decay of forgotten landscapes, and the radical imagination of new spaces. The call delves into the socio-political and ecological questions surrounding erasure, fragmentation, and the battle for belonging in a world where places are increasingly contested and lost.

Is there an artist fee?
MANIFEST:IO is not state funded. We rely on ticket sales and any generous sponsors. If you would like to sponsor our event, please
We do not provide an artist fee. We provide space and excellent documentation. We encourage submitting works that are in progress or have yet to make their premiere.
Is it only open to Berlin-based individuals?
We encourage international applicants to submit their proposals. However, priority is given to Berlin-based artists or those who can be in Berlin.
Will you provide everything on my tech rider?
All artists applying to exhibit work are required to bring their own technology. We can provide minimal support.
For performers, we will be in conversation regarding the stage setup once your application is accepted.
When will I hear back about my application?
We are an incredibly small team, and it is unlikely we can reply to everyone. Only accepted applicants will be emailed by January 15th, 2025.
